Tommy Skarlis Wins FLW Event on Mississippi

Claims $63k in Winnings for Victory

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Tommy Skarlis has been a staple on the professional walleye scene for many years, dominating many of the events that he participates. This past weekend the walleye pro took control of another event on a piece of water he is all too familiar with – the Mississippi River. The Abu Garcia pro weighed-in 14-pounds, 15-ounces of walleye on the final day to beat his nearest competitor by nearly nine pounds.

His win on the Mississippi River in Bismarck, N.D., earned Skarlis a prize package worth $63,000. Consistency paid off for the Waukon, Iowa, native as he worked many areas, but was more consistent with rock piles.

“I absolutely love fishing the Mississippi River,” said Skarlis. “I’ve been blessed with over 30 years of experience on this river and it has paid off in a big way.
