Unlike the original ABU reels, this reel is made in china by an OEM. Unfortunately, a significant portion of load bearing gears are made of plastic. after 1 striper run, reel completely stripped the level wind gear, making and awful grinding noise and disengaging the spool briefly if quickly stopped. its a fine reel for bass and channel cat, but this simply cannot hold a candle to the c3 or c4. it's fine if you don't fish with heavy weights, but a season of 1 ounce swimbaits decimated the level wind gearing. unless you're throwing lighter lures, I wouldn't recommend it

Bought the 6600 SX for musky. Spooled it with powerpro. This reel is probably the easiest casting round reel I've used. Casts everything I throw with ease, up to 3 and a half ounces. The handle size was a headscratcher, same length handle as a small low pro. Added an aftermarket 130mm power handle. Much better.

Let me start by saying this reel is great by what it can handle for the price. I've caught tons of 40+ inch drums, 3-5 ft sharks, bass, etc., often on this reel with no struggles. Handles the fish great honestly if your looking for a good fight but not an overwhelming hour + one but my only issue after all this is a reoccurring problem with the clicker. I've had this reel for years as a gift from my dad but even within the first year owning it the clicker would just simply not make noise or occasionally would skip a turn as I'm reeling if the clicker is engaged.

This is one of the best reels I own, and for the money you can't beat it. I use this reel for salt water, and has landed many Bull Reds and Jacks plus some nice sharks. The only down fall I had with this reel was on one of the big Jacks the braid burned though the line guide, but it still landed the fish and was still able to fish with it and still landed fish on that trip. I order a replacement guide for it and back in the fight.

Four stars because the clicker broke on the very first fish I caught almost a year and a half ago. However since then I can report that this reel has brought in hundreds of fish of varying weight up to about 8lbs. I use it with leadcore and troll in freshwater most of the time. Fix the clicker quality and get five stars.
