Warranty Policy

USA AND CANADA: Abu Garcia reels are covered against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of purchase and rods for three (3) years from date of purchase. 

FOR USA AND CANADA ONLY "LIMITED WARRANTY" This "limited warranty" has been drafted to comply with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act which is effective for goods manufactured on or after December 31, 1976. For the period indicated, Abu Garcia will, at its option, repair or replace and return the covered items found to be defective in material or workmanship at no charge except for shipping cost. Abu Garcia will have no other obligation and will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Abu Garcia makes no implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for any period beyond the stated duration of each Limited Warranty. This Warranty does not cover damage by addition or alteration of the product, accidental damage or loss, abuse, failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance or normal expected wear. Damage that is determined to be of this nature will be repaired at consumer's expense. This Warranty does not extend to products which are put to commercial or rental use.

This Warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the reel, and does not give any rights to any other person. Some states do not allow exclusions of incidental or consequential damages or limitations of the duration implied warranties, so the above exclusion and limitation may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. Wholesalers and dealers (unless an Abu Garcia Authorized Center) are not authorized to make in-warranty repairs or adjustments on behalf of Abu Garcia. The terms of the Warranty cannot be changed except in writing by an officer of Abu Garcia. Abu Garcia rods or reels requiring warranty repair should NOT be returned to the store of purchase.

To help us best service your reel, please print out and complete a Reel Repair/Replacement Form. Include the completed form when you send in your reel for repair. If you are requesting repair under warranty, please also send a copy of your dated receipt. Package your reel carefully to avoid damage. We suggest sending your reel via UPS, FedEx or insured mail and recording your tracking number.

Abu Garcia® Warranty & Service

Abu Garcia® warrants to the original purchaser that its Abu Garcia® products are free from defects in materials or workmanship. Specified warranty program eligibility coverage periods are as follows: Abu reels are (1) year and rods vary dependent on rod series (3 to 5) limited warranty: 

• Zenon: Limited 5-year warranty
• Fantasista X: Limited 3-year warranty
• Ike: Limited 3-year warranty
• Veritas Tournament: Limited 3-year warranty
• Veritas: Limited 3-year warranty
• Vendetta: Limited 3-year warranty
• Vengeance: Limited 3-year warranty

Abu Garcia® is not responsible for normal wear and tear, for products used commercially or for failures caused by accidents, abuse, alteration, modification, misuse or improper care. There are no other express warranties beyond the terms of this limited warranty. In no event shall any implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, extend beyond the duration of the express warranty contained herein. In no event shall Abu Garcia® be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. 

Rods Warranty: 

Abu Garcia® warrants to the original purchaser that its rods are free from defects in materials or workmanship for a specific warranty period detailed above.  Abu Garcia® is not responsible for normal wear and tear, nor failures caused by accidents, abuse, alteration, modification, misuse or improper care. This applies to either rods purchased separately or as a combo unit. Abu Garcia®  is not responsible for normal wear and tear, nor failures caused by accidents, abuse, alteration, modification, misuse or improper care. This applies to either rods purchased separately or as a combo unit, reels within a combo only have a one (1) year warranty from date of purchase.

We do not offer repair or parts for rods. If your rod failed due to a manufacturing defect and is still under warranty, we will be happy to replace it with a new rod of the same or a comparable model. If your rod is within the original warranty period, we will need to inspect your rod to determine the nature of the defect.

These easy steps will help us take care of your rod warranty claim as efficiently as possible:

1. Photograph of rod clearly showing brand and model – directly above handle

2. Photograph clearly showing the broken area(s) of the rod

3. Copy of the dated receipt or proof of purchase

4. A brief description of how your rod broke

5. Your address and a daytime contact number. Rods under warranty will be replaced for a processing fee of $9.95 US or $10.55 CAD.

In the event your rod is no longer manufactured or is currently unavailable, we will also contact you to discuss your replacement options. Rods that do not qualify for warranty replacement may also be submitted for a discounted replacement. Please contact us directly for details at (800) 228-4272.
