I took this out a few times, mainly bass fishing, nothing huge. I did go fishing in Maryland for shad and caught a few stripers. The 2nd striper I reeled in, I could tell the reel was acting differently. I had gotten some water on it and thought maybe some debris got into a bearing. I took it home and cleaned it and noticed the worm gear had started to strip. I am in the process of trying to get a return. Alot of my rods and reels are Abu and I know they are great. I think maybe I got one of the lemons that squeaked by.

But this a few months ago and the second time I fished with it the first six inches of the top snapped off. I reached out to customer service about the warranty two weeks ago and have not heard a word back from them. Highly disappointed in Abu Garcia. I have always been very satisfied with their products up to this point.

bought this exactly 2 months ago and at day 58 the reel exploded on casting throwing the bail and internals spitting into the creek! this was a gift for my son and highly disappointed him a this was the 3rd cast of the morning and he had to go back and use my sticks.

The reel seat was not in line with the line guides.
