First time out, an incredibly tiny screw fell out of the handle assembly and it fell apart, leaving me down one set up when I can run 3. I should have known better than to buy a reel that comes in a blister pack

Bought this last january and take it to saltwater pond and got 1 fish thats about 2 pound the reel feel so smooth while fighting the fish.. Always the best from ABU GARCIA..Definitely FOR LIFE..

I currently own the 1000 size after deciding to jump the gun and see if these MAX reels are any good- turns out they are! I love my MAX stx for smallmouth and perch. It's about as smooth as a pflueger president and it somehow feels a little lighter too! I love the rocket spool that makes my braid cast farther too! I'd say pick this reel up IMMEDIATELY if there's a good sale!
